Discussion:

Approve the appointment of Eve Goldberg to the Library Commission. The Sonoma County Library is governed by an independent 11-member Library Commission. The city councils of Cloverdale, Cotati, Healdsburg, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sonoma, and Windsor, along with the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, each appoint a Library Commissioner. The City of Santa Rosa and the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors also jointly appoint one Library Commissioner. The Commission provides structure and direction for the operational, administrative and fiscal oversight of the Library. Eve has degrees in film and psychology and has experience volunteering with organizations such as Sonoma County Juvenile Justice Commission, Adult Literacy Program, Sonoma County Library, CASA (Count Appointed Special Advocate for Youth), and the Southern California Library for Social Studies & Research Board of Directors.

Approve the reappointment of James J. Barnes to the Sonoma County Public Law Library Board of Trustees. California Business and Professions Code Section 6300 states that there shall be, in each county of this State, a board of law library trustees, which governs the law library established for the county under the provisions of chapter 6300 therein. James Barnes has been an appointee on the Board of Trustees for fifteen years. He received a Juris Doctor degree in 1981. He was also previously a member of the Board of Directors for Food for Thought and is a current member of the Sonoma County Bar Association.

Approve the reappointment of Sherie Hurd to the Sonoma County Public Law Library Board of Trustees. California Business and Professions Code Section 6300 states that there shall be, in each county of this State, a board of law library trustees, which governs the law library established for the county under the provisions of chapter 6300 therein. Sheri Hurd has been an appointee on the Board of Trustees for five years. Sheri currently works as the Executive Vice President, Marketing and Operations, for Empire College.
