Discussion:
Pursuant to Elections Code §10515, if only one person has been nominated for any elective office to be filled at the General District Election, the supervising authority (Board of Supervisors) shall appoint such person(s) to such office(s). This section states further that if no person has been nominated, the supervising authority shall appoint to the office any person who is qualified on the date when the election would have been held. Persons appointed pursuant to this section take office and serve exactly as if elected at a General District Election.
There were no candidates that filed a declaration of candidacy.
John Nagle, Beth Bruzzone, and Bruce Abelli-Amen are current incumbents of the Board, and are recommended for reappointment for terms beginning on December 8, 2022.
Jennifer Kuzmar resigned July 22, 2022. Isaac Jenkins is recommended to fill the remainder of the term from November 8-December 7, 2022 and to then be reappointed for a full term beginning December 8, 2022.
