Executive Summary:
Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, do not update their registration, or are not sure how to register. On September 20, 2022, volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities.
Discussion:
We have registered to become an Official Partner with National Voter Registration Day to support this single day of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts that will create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities. This will hopefully give us the opportunity to reach Sonoma County residents who are eligible to vote but have not yet registered. These are often the types of people we have difficulty reaching through other means.
Prior Board Actions:
On September 28, 2021, the Board adopted a gold resolution recognizing September 20, 2021, as National Voter Registration Day (Resolution 2021-0938).
