Title
Adopt a Gold Resolution recognizing September 28, 2021, as National Voter Registration Day. (Countywide)
End
Executive Summary:
Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, do not update their registration, or are not sure how to register. On September 28, 2021, volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities. (Countywide)
Discussion:
We have become an Official Partner with National Voter Registration Day to support this single day of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts that will create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities. This will hopefully allow us to reach Sonoma County residents who are eligible to register to vote but have not yet done so -- people who we may have difficulty reaching otherwise.
Prior Board Actions:
On September 22, 2020, the Board adopted a Gold Resolution recognizing September 22, 2020, as National Voter Registration Day (Resolution 20-0359).
