Executive Summary:
Annually the Board discusses strategic priorities and Board content for consideration.
Discussion:
Twice annually the Board reviews proposed items of significant public interest. Per the Board Rules of Procedure Rule 45, this item is the mid-year review of the Calendar of Significant Interest. The 2021 Board Calendar was approved at the February 9, 2021 Board meeting.
The review provides an opportunity for the Board to discuss policy priorities and to give direction to the County Administrator regarding significant items through the remainder of the calendar year. As can be seen in Attachment 2, there is nearly no capacity on the calendar to add additional significant items.

In addition, any new items added will require staff to reprioritize existing projects. During the June 2021 budget hearings, the Board expressed a desire to have an annual review of Veterans Buildings and an annual review of tribal agreements. The County Administrator recommends that these items be scheduled in April which coincides with the timing of Departmental Budget Workshops.
