Executive Summary:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code 30301.2, the Senate Rules Committee is required to request names for nomination from the counties of Marin, San Francisco and Sonoma. The Board of Supervisors and the City Selection Committee in each county within the region shall each nominate one or more supervisors and one or more mayors or city council members. The County of Sonoma and the Sonoma County City Selection Committee received a letter dated April 10, 2019, from the Senate Rules Committee requesting nominations for an appointment to the California Coastal Commission. A response was requested within 45 days of the receipt of the letter. The City Selection Committee held a special meeting on May 15, 2019, and selected Town of Windsor, Vice-Mayor Debora Fudge for nomination to the California Coastal Commission.
Staff recommends the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors nominate an appointee to the California Coastal Commission and staff recommends submitting this nomination to the Senate Rules Committee to consider for appointment.
