Executive Summary:
This project involves the installation of a new, fully donated solar panel system on the roof of one of the buildings on TLC Child & Family Services campus. Through a generous community partnership, Taylor Energy is donating 100% of the solar equipment, materials, and professional installation services to TLC Child & Family Services. A fee waiver is requested so that vital non-profit funding can remain dedicated to supporting youth and families TLC serves.
Discussion:
TLC’s campus serves a critical community need by providing a continuum of care for vulnerable youth, including a residential treatment program, a certified non-public high school, counseling offices, and our central administrative headquarters. Operating these specialized therapeutic and educational facilities requires significant, non-negotiable utility expenses. This project will impact on average 60 youth and staff daily.
By transitioning to clean energy, this fully donated project will permanently reduce monthly operational overhead. Every dollar saved on utility costs will be directly reinvested into TLC’s direct-care budgets, funding specialized student curriculum, therapeutic resources, and youth residential needs.
