Executive Summary:
The Board of Supervisors are responsible for appointments to over 75 Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Task Forces. Rule 50 of the Board Rules of Procedures states that the Clerk of the Board shall convene staff to review prospective countywide appointments and make appointment recommendations to the Board. The current item recommends appointment of Nate Luna to the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee.

Approve the appointment of Nate Luna to the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee.
In November 2018, the voters of Sonoma County passed Measure M to support both county and city parks with a one-eighth cent sales tax as set forth in the Sonoma County Parks Improvement, Water Quality and Fire Safety Measure Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance.
The Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee was established to provide transparency and ensure fiscal accountability in the implementation of the Sonoma County Parks Improvement, Water Quality, and Fire Safety Measure Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Sonoma County Ord. No. 6238).
The duties of the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee include: reviewing the receipt and expenditures of the revenue from the Sonoma County Parks Improvement, Water Quality, and Fire Safety Measure Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance; producing an annual oral or written report which shall be considered by the Board at a public meeting; and providing any budget recommendations to the Board and City Councils regarding expenditures from the transactions and use tax.
Nate Luna brings insights and experience from over 12 years of project and program management for the East Bay Regional Park District. He has extensive experience in program oversight and budget management.
