Adopt the resolution authorizing consolidation of all local jurisdictions that have submitted requests for consolidation with the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election, as required by Elections Code § 10400, and which have measures to be placed before the voters or sufficient nominees to trigger elections.

Executive Summary:
The regularly scheduled Statewide Direct Primary Election is set to be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Elections Code § 10403 provides that elections called by districts, cities, or other political subdivisions on the same day as a statewide election shall be consolidated so that matters being voted on in the same territory will appear on the same ballot. The primary purpose of consolidating elections is to maximize utilization of resources needed (i.e., avoid duplication), which can result in overall cost savings.
Discussion:
One local jurisdiction, Kenwood School District, filed a resolution with this office calling an election to be held on June 7, 2022, placing a parcel tax extension measure before its voters, as well as requesting consolidation as authorized by state law. A copy of this resolution is on file with the Clerk of the Board.
