Executive Summary:
As a 501c3 nonprofit the 50th Annual Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival will be head at Westside Park in Bodega Bay on April 22-23, 2023. All proceeds from the festival are distributed to 25 local nonprofits including school programs, public safety, and community groups. Over 400 volunteers are involved with the festival. A small admission fee is charged for adults, but children enter for free. Festival costs have risen to over $60,000 which includes tenting, rentals, fencing, entertainment and permits.
Discussion:
The festival has its origin as a celebration of the start of the salmon fishing season and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. The festival is a great venue for children with a play area for face painting, spin paintings, games, a touch tank tide pool, and more.
