Executive Summary:
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program conduct no cost tax preparation assistance for low-income individuals and families, with special attention to those ages 50 or older. A fee waiver is recommended for services to be held in the Sebastopol Veteran’s Memorial Building from January through April 2025.
Discussion:
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program conduct no cost tax preparation assistance for low-income individuals and families, with special attention to those ages 50 or older. Last tax season in Sonoma County AARP had 83 active volunteers who prepared over 2,700 returns and assisted several hundred taxpayers by answering questions, reviewing paperwork, and helping them with letters from the Franchise Tax Board and IRS. The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program receives no tax funding. The program can only operate in locations where there is no facility charge.
