Executive Summary:
Annually the Board discusses strategic priorities and Board content for consideration.
Discussion:
Twice annually the Board reviews proposed items of significant public interest. Per the Board Rules of Procedure Rule 45, this item is the first review of the Calendar of Significant Interest for 2023.
The review provides an opportunity for the Board to discuss policy priorities and to give direction to the County Administrator regarding significant items throughout the year. The objective with the calendar is to schedule no more than 80% capacity for each meeting to allow space for urgent additions, such as land use hearings that arise throughout the year. A draft calendar (Attachment 1) reflects County department and agency input on strategic priorities that should come to the Board for consideration in the first half of the calendar year. The County Administrator seeks Board input on its priorities as the current draft exceeds the desired 80% capacity target for the months of March through August. The final Calendar of Items of Significant for 2023 will be put forward on February 28, 2023 for adoption.
