Executive Summary:
At the first meeting of the year, the Board approves assignments, ad-hoc and standing committees, and department liaison responsibilities for 2025. Special assignments include committees, governing boards of independent government entities, etc. for which Board members serve as part of the official duties associated with the office of Sonoma County Supervisors, Directors, and Commissioners.
Once the Board has approved the 2025 assignments, a completed list will be place on file with the Clerk of the Board and will be posted on the Board’s website.
Discussion:
The current item seeks approval of the Board member assignments and ad-hoc responsibilities for 2025. Special assignments include committees, governing boards of independent government entities, etc. for which Board members serve as part of the official duties associated with the office of Sonoma County Supervisors, Directors, and Commissioners.
Once the Board has approved the 2025 assignments, a completed list will be place on file with the Clerk of the Board and will be posted on the Board’s website.
Two additional bodies have been to the Board assignments from prior years. The first is the Eel Russian River Project Authority. This includes one primary and one alternate appointment for the Board of Supervisors and one primary and one alternate appointment for the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA). This is an annual position. Supervisor Gore is recommended as the primary and Supervisor Hermosillo as the alternate for the County of Sonoma. Supervisor Rabbitt is recommended as the primary and Supervisor Hopkins as the alternate for SCWA. The second is the Board of Supervisor’s appointment to the Great Redwood Trail Agency. This is one primary position for a two-year term. Supervisor Gore is recommended for the position.
