Approve Ad-Hoc, Standing Committees, and Board Assignments for members of the Board of Supervisors and the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Water Agency for the year 2026.

Executive Summary:

In the beginning of the year, the Board approves assignments, ad-hoc and standing committees, and department liaison responsibilities for 2026. Special assignments include committees, governing boards of independent government entities, etc. for which Board members serve as part of the official duties associated with the office of Sonoma County Supervisors, Directors, and Commissioners.

 

Once the Board has approved the 2026 assignments, a completed list will be place on file with the Clerk of the Board and will be posted on the Board’s website.

 

Discussion:

The current item seeks approval of the Board member assignments and ad-hoc responsibilities for 2026. Special assignments include committees, governing boards of independent government entities, etc. for which Board members serve as part of the official duties associated with the office of Sonoma County Supervisors, Directors, and Commissioners.

 

Once the Board has approved the 2026 assignments, a completed list will be place on file with the Clerk of the Board and will be posted on the Board’s website.

 

The following outlines amendments to Board Assignments and Ad Hoc responsibilities since the prior year’s adoption:

 

Assignments:

a)                     Supervisor Hopkins is assigned as primary to the Local Governments Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Coordination Program.

b)                     Supervisors Hermosillo, Gore and Hopkins are assigned as primary members and Supervisor Coursey as an alternate member to the Public Financing Authority for the West Sonoma County Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District.

c)                     Health Action is removed from the list as that group was disbanded.

d)                     Supervisor Hermosillo is assigned as primary and Supervisor Gore alternate to the CSAC Board of Directors.

 

Ad Hocs:

a)                     Potter Valley removed

b)                     Code Enforcement removed

c)                     TOT Policy Review removed

d)                     Measure O added

e)                     Cities and County Critical Areas Coordination added July 2025/removed for 2026

f)                     Supporting Immigrant Communities added

g)                     United Soccer League (USL) added

h)                     Russian River Management (Working Title) added
