Discussion:
The Board of Supervisors are responsible for appointments to over 75 Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Task Forces. Vacancies and upcoming expiring appointments are posted on the County’s list of Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Task Forces website:

Rule 50 of the Board Rules of Procedures states that the Clerk of the Board shall convene staff to review prospective countywide appointments and make appointment recommendations to the Board. The current item submits a recommendation for a position on the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee.
The Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee was established to provide transparency and ensure fiscal accountability in the implementation of the Sonoma County Parks Improvement, Water Quality, and Fire Safety Measure Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Sonoma County Ord. No. 6238).
The duties of the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee include: reviewing the receipt and expenditures of the revenue from the Sonoma County Parks Improvement, Water Quality, and Fire Safety Measure Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance; producing an annual oral or written report which shall be considered by the Board at a public meeting; and providing any budget recommendations to the Board and City Councils regarding expenditures from the transactions and use tax.
Carol Eber has been a long-standing volunteer in service to Sonoma County Regional Parks, having been a member of the Parks Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee and the Sonoma County Parks Foundation Board.
