Executive Summary:
This item seeks your Boards approval of the continued Appointment of Jake Mackenzie to serve as Sonoma County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) until a replacement has been appointed.
Discussion:
On June 4, 2019, your Board approved the appointment of Jake Mackenzie to serve as the representative of Sonoma County and cities on MTC from February 2019 through February 2023.
The current appointment was reflective of three names submitted to your Board for consideration by the Sonoma County City Selection Committee. Jake Mackenzie’s current term as the City of Rohnert Park Vice Mayor and Rohnert Park Area 4 representative expires in December of 2020. This items seeks your Board’s approval of the continued appointment of Councilmember Mackenzie to serve as MTC representative until the Sonoma County Mayors and Councilmembers Association can fulfill its procedural obligation to recommend a replacement and the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors appoints a replacement in early 2021.
