Executive Summary:

The Windsor Kiwanis Foundation is the non-profit responsible for the annual ‘Windsor Day Parade’ on September 27, 2025. This item seeks the Board’s authorization to use $5,000 of General Fund Contingencies to support police services costs associated with the parade.

 

Discussion:

This item seeks Board authorization to allocate $5,000 of General Fund Contingencies for sponsorship of the ‘Windsor Day Parade’ and associated police services costs for public safety provided by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. The Windsor Day Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The Kiwanis Club of Windsor along with the Town of Windsor and other local clubs hold this annual event in Windsor, CA.  The parade will include local agencies, clubs, schools, and community organizations and will be followed by a festival and concert on the Windsor Town Green. This funding will provide public benefits that serve important community needs as allowed under Government Code section 26227.
