Executive Summary:
At the first meeting of the year, the Board approves assignments, ad-hoc and standing committees, and department liaison responsibilities for the year. Special assignments include committees, governing boards of independent government entities, etc. for which Board members serve as part of the official duties associated with the office of Sonoma County Supervisors, Directors, and Commissioners.
The Board approved these assignments on January 7, 2025. This item recommends amendments and clarifying changes to the list originally approved.
Discussion:
On January 7, 2025 the Board of Supervisors approved the assignments and ad hoc responsibilities for 2025. The current item seeks to amend and clarify the following:
A. Revise the name of the group “Aging Together” to the “Master Plan for Aging Oversight Committee” to align with the group’s current working name. No changes are proposed to the assignments for this group.
B. Santa Rosa Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District - Approve Supervisor David Rabbitt as primary replacing Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo.
C. Santa Rosa Groundwater Sustainability Agency - Revise the appointments and clarify roles and approve Supervisor Hopkins as primary for Sonoma Water, Supervisor Coursey as primary for the County of Sonoma, and Supervisor Hermosillo as alternate for both Sonoma Water and the County of Sonoma.
D. Petaluma Groundwater Sustainability Agency - Clarify roles and approve Supervisor Hermosillo as primary for Sonoma Water, Supervisor Rabbitt as primary for the County of Sonoma, and Supervisor Gore as alternate for both Sonoma Water and the County of Sonoma.
E. Sonoma Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency - Clarify roles and approve Supervisor Hermosillo as primary for the Sonoma Water, Supervisor Rabbitt as primary for the County of Sonoma, and Supervisor Gore as alternate for both Sonoma Water and the County of Sonoma.
F. Remove the Sonoma County Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee from the list of Board Assignments as Cal Gov Code 12715, which originally established the body, was repealed. The group has not met since 2014 and is considered disbanded.
