Executive Summary:
This item recommends adoption of a Resolution encouraging and supporting the participation of Sonoma Water Director David Rabbitt to serve as Chair on the Association of California Water Agencies’ Region One Board of Directors.
Discussion:
Sonoma Water is a member of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA). ACWA is composed of ten regions with regional boards of directors representing ACWA members. Sonoma Water is in ACWA Region One. Every two years, ACWA seeks nominations for ACWA members to serve on regional boards of directors. Director David Rabbitt has served on the ACWA Region One Board of Directors since [year] and is interested in continuing to serve for the 2026/2027 term. Director Rabbitt is also seeking to serve as Region One Board Chair. ACWA requires a resolution of support for the nomination as a part of its candidate nomination process.
The ACWA Region One Board ensures communications between regional members and ACWA staff, and helps implement ACWA’s communications, legislative and public outreach goals. The Region One Board Chair also serves on ACWA’s Board of Directors.
Staff Recommendation:
Adopt a resolution of support for election of Director David Rabbitt as Chair of the ACWA Region One Board of Directors.
