Executive Summary:
The North Bay Children’s Center (NBCC) has requested a fee waiver of the special event permit and fire inspection fee, in a total combined amount of $1,672.47.
Discussion:
The North Bay Children’s Center (NBCC) is a tax-exempt, non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization located in Sonoma County. 2024 is NBCC’s 35th anniversary year providing subsidized childcare, early education, nutrition education, and family support services to vulnerable families in Sonoma and Marin Counties serving more than 600 children ages 0-5 annually. Proceeds from this event will support NBCC’s Learning Lab activities that take place at the newly constructed Learning Lab in Novato as well as in the Barn 5400 location in Petaluma. These efforts are to help address the county’s unprecedented early childhood education (ECE) staffing shortage and the need to celebrate degree and teaching permit attainment. Training activities support over 160 teachers at our 14 locations, 9 of which are in Sonoma County.
