Executive Summary:
On January 23, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved the Ad Hoc assignments for calendar year 2024. The Board requested that staff provide quarterly updates on the Ad Hoc activities to keep the Board and public informed about the progress being made by these committees. Each committee is unique in its charter, outcomes, and process. A summary of activities is below, and expanded information can be found in Attachment A.

Fire Services: The ad hoc met on December 11, 2024, and agenda items included:
§ Sonoma County Fire District Funding Requests
§ Fire Services Updates
Direction to staff:
§ Continue conversations with Sonoma County Fire District, requesting additional data for analysis
South Santa Rosa Annexation: The ad hoc did not meet in the fourth quarter. There are no meetings currently scheduled.
§ Discussions are ongoing between County and City of Santa Rosa staff regarding the development of a South Santa Rosa Specific Plan.
Porter Valley: The ad hoc did not meet in the fourth quarter. There are no meetings currently scheduled and meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Unincorporated Governance: The ad hoc met on November 27, 2024, and agenda items included:
• 10/29/24 all-MAC Meeting recap
• 2025 all-MAC Convening
• District Formation Policy
Direction provided to staff:
• Invite other Supervisors to the 2025 all-MAC Convening
• Work on policy options for allocating District Formation Funds as parallel process to the upcoming policy considerations related to Transient Occupancy Tax to go to the Board in 2025
