Executive Summary:
The Board of Supervisors are responsible for appointments to over 75 Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Task Forces. Rule 50 of the Board Rules of Procedures states that the Clerk of the Board shall convene staff to review prospective countywide appointments and make appointment recommendations to the Board. The current item recommends reappointment of Dane Jasper to the Aviation Commission representing a member-at-large for a new two-year term.
Discussion:
The Sonoma County Public Infrastructure Department, Airport Division, is requesting approval the Reappointment of Dane Jasper to the Aviation Commission. The Aviation Commission conducts public meetings to provide an opportunity for public input on Airport related matters, serves as a liaison between Airport tenants and stakeholders and Airport staff, reviews aviation matters related to the operation of the Airport, and provides recommendations, advice, and support to Airport staff. Dane Jasper has been a member of the Aviation Commission since July of 2022, serving as one of two At Large Commission members. A member of the local business community as CEO and co-founder of Sonic.com, Dane’s business experience and unique perspective has been a valuable resource for residents reaching out with noise complaints, questions, and concerns.
The term of the reappointment to the Aviation Commission for members-at-large is two years. SPI staff are requesting the reappointment of Dane Jasper as an At Large member for a new two-year term from January 7, 2025, to January 6, 2027.
